The media and other interested parties are invited to the presentation of the midyear trends regarding farm attacks and murders on July 11th.

President Ramaphosa has still not made any official statement about farm murders and crime on farms, despite there being various opportunity to shine the light on this situation. The reasonable person can therefore deduct that he and the ANC government sees this type of crime as less important, and could even be approving it.

TLU SA invites any interested parties to a media conference in this regard.

The following issues will be presented and discussed during the event:

  • The bi-annual crime trends in farm murders and attacks
    • Genl Chris van Zyl (ret), Deputy General Manager TLU SA
  • Evaluation of the South African reality
    • Louis Meintjes, President TLU SA
  • The extent of crime in South Africa with a focus of the brutality of the crime
    • Dr Johan Burger: Institute for Security Studies
  • The reasonable person’s behaviour given the adaptability of Common Law
    • Prof Llewellyn Curlewis – University of Pretoria

Afterwards there will be time for questions and answers
